Victory
Well the Democratic Party now has the US house, US Senate and picked up 5 seats in the Texas Ledge. There were ,any local victories here in Bexar county as well.
How did we do it?
1) Got off our a** and got to work.
3) We were confident and defended our ideas.
2) Great candidates. Many of these Candidates would be considered Blue-Dog Democrats. They are less liberal on certain issues than the Yellow-Dog or very Liberal Democrats. Most of our new congressmen and women disagree with the party line on the hot button social issues. Issues that those of us more to the left believe the government shouldn't get involved with. Now, before some of you start calling for a purging of the less-than-liberals of the party keep in mind we would not have had our victories without them. You also need to keep in mind that we are the big tent party. Once we control the agenda we can work on issues that bring people together. Issues like the minimum wage, healthcare, protection of the environment, competent foriegn policy, and education. Those are the issues we can work on together. Those are the issues that can unite our nation and help people.

From: Joaquin Castro

Dear Friends,
Election Day is this coming Tuesday, November 7th. In this year's election, Election Day will be crucial in determining the success of our campaign. I'm writing to personally ask for help to volunteer some of your time on Tuesday, to hand out literature at a poll site. Your volunteer work during this important time will make a tremendous difference in influencing how potential voters will vote. Your presence, enthusiasm and good words about my candidacy will make a huge difference and ensure our success. The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. We are asking your help to hand out literature at a polling site in any one of the following four hour time blocks: 7 a.m to 11 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.. If you are able to help work a poll (or even to blockwalk or phonebank on Tuesday) please contact me at (210) 436-5284.
Thank you for all of your support and friendship. Let's make a final push to victory on Tuesday!
Thank you!
Joaquin

BROKE 100,000 VOTES IN BEXAR
CONGRADULATIONS!!!
To Everyone who is out there blockwalking, phone-banking and doing anything to contribute to a campaign or to get people to vote.
I remember one time I was an election judge and I recall the entire day we had about 20 people vote. But to see these results where more than 10,000 people a day are voting truely makes me proud. I hope that number continues to increase.
Let's make it happen.
Tell everyone you come into contact with. GET OUT THERE AND LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!!!!!!!!
It's time for a change, so let's VOTE.
Tell Family, Friends, People you work with and their family and friends.
People you go to church with, tell everyone and anyone.
And yes even the guy working at the gas station.
Everyone deserves to have their voice heard. It's one of the inalienable rights that we beleive everyone is born with.
